The Texas Chess Association, Inc., is a nonprofit corporation, established under Section 501(c)(3) of the IRS code, whose purpose is educational and instructional in promoting interest in chess in the State of Texas. Accordingly, Americo Paredes Elementary proudly sponsors the 2006 TCA Texas Junior Invitational Chess Tournament at the UTB/TSC Student Union Gran Salon, located at 80 Fort Brown, Brownsville, Texas 78520, on June 17-18, 2005.

One section to determine the 2005 Texas Junior Invitational Champion. Players will participate by invitation only and must be under 21 years of age as of December 31, 2005.

Please Note: We are using the following criteria our guest participants:

• 2005 Texas Grade and Collegiate Champions and Co-Champions
• 2005 National Grade and Collegiate Top-10 finishers (Texas residents)
• 2006 TCA Regional High School and Middle School Champions and Co-Champions
• 2006 TCA Texas Scholastic Champions and Co-Champions in the K-1, Primary Open, Elementary Open, Middle School Open, and High School Open Sections
• Junior Players (under 21 years old) who have a rating higher than 1800

All five rounds are G/120.

Entry Fee is $21 if postmark by June 10, 2006, else $35 afterward. Please add $7.50 (for juniors 18 and under or $10.00 for regular membership) to the tournament entry fee if not you are not a current member of the TCA. Pay and send entries to Victor J. Flores, 5475 Stagecoach Trail, Brownsville, TX 78526. Do not mail after June 10, 2006, as it may not be received.

Entries must include full Name, USCF ID, June rating, grade, school, address, telephone number, date of birth, email, city and zip code. Please print - incomplete entries will be charged at the on-site entry fee of $35.

Participants must be current USCF members.

Registration/Check in for Friday, June 17 at the Elk’s Lodge from 7 pm - 9pm.

On-site registration/check-in for Saturday, June 17th is at Student Union Gran Salon from 7am - 8:00 am.

Saturday registration may require a ½ point 1st round bye.

USCF and TCA memberships are required.

Players needing/renewing memberships have the following options: Adult ($38 new promotional membership or $49.00 renewing, 20 and over) Youth ($25.00, 19 and under), Scholastic ($19.00, 14 and under).
